Today I missed my monthly tea ceremony. For some reason it totally slipped my mind. Too busy?
To compensate I bought some tea at the Mariage Freres in Ebisu. A box of 30 bags of Earl Grey Imperial for work, 100g of Earl Grey French Blue, and new Darjeleen (like a young wine, only better).
This blog post is mainly to start keep track of the different teas so I can pick my favorite. The Maraiage Freres Earl Grey I just finished was better than the French Blue I bought today (in my cup as I’m writing), but I don’t remember the name of it. Bummer.
Well, they only have the following Earl Grey variants at Mariage Freres so just 15 to go 🙂
- Breakfast
- D’or
- Detheine
- English
- French Blue (just bought as leafs)
- Grand
- Highland
- Imperial (just bought as tea bags)
- (Normal)
- Oolong
- Provence
- Pu-Erh
- Roi Des
- Rouge
- Sencha
- Silver Tips
- Smoky
So currently my rating is:
- [Unknown] Earl Grey
- Earl Grey French Blue
Stay tuned for Top 10 to crystallize 😉
That’s a lot of different teas! I like the box on this one.
Using tea-bags at your tea-ceremony would save a lot of time. 😀
LoL, I guess some people do have a tea bag ceremony. They follow the same procedure every time. Like unfolding tea bag in the same way, then put it into the cup with the string twirled around the ear (which is always to the left), hot water into the cup (from the right), and seep for exactly 3 min. Then un-twirl the string, dip the bag 3 times, wrap it around the spoons and gently squeeze, and throw away the bag. 2 table spoons of sugar, half a cup of warm milk. Enjoy the cup in the swing chair on the porch.
