During the last weekend I backed up Chie’s MacBook and my MacBook Pro as a preparation for the coming Mac OS X upgrade. It was a somewhat time consuming exercise but well worth it. Yesterday when I woke up the new OS version had downloaded to my MacBook Pro and I could start the installing the upgrade. Before I left for the office there was a Lion living and roaring in my MacBook. And it was an awesome Lion 😀
Once back home after a day at the office (where I most of the time just wanted to be back home with my new Lion) I started to download the OS upgrade for Chie as well. It had finished downloading some time during the night and when Chie was out of the shower the same roaring Lion was living in here MacBook too.
Now when I have had time to use it for a little bit more than just installing it and checking emails I can just say that my initial impression remains. It is awesome. Of course with the big conceptual changes that have taken place transforming a Snow Leopard into a Lion comes some difficulties for users. I, for instance, tend to scroll the wrong way using multi-touch on the track-pad. In Snow Leopard you moved two fingers downwards on the track-pad to scroll the content in the window upwards but in Lion two fingers downwards on the track-pad means scroll things down. Just as on the iOS devices, and just as if you would have done it if the screen on the MacBook (Pro/Air) would have been touch screens (how long will we have to wait for that?).
I am really looking forward to learn more about the Lion to improve my productivity. And I am pretty sure I will have a fun time doing it 😀
Ha, ha, you’re such a Mac-greek. 🙂
Mac-Greek because you think all I say about Mac is incomprehensible? 😉
