Yodakimbo

After our visit to the Swedish embassy we were hungry. We returned to Naka-Meguro for dinner at Yodakimbo. In short… It was YUMMY!

Dinner at Yodakimbo

We were craving nabe tonight and the option was to cook it at home or Yodakimbo. Since both Chie and I had been busy today and we really wanted chicken nabe we chose the Yodakimbo option, which may have guessed from the title 😉

As always at Yodakimbo the food was delicious and the service was friendly, just as we like it.

Yodakimbo

After work I took the visitor from our Lund office to Yodakimbo. A small and smoky restaurant in Naka-Meguro. Chie joined us after her work as well. We had a good time talking, eating and drinking. Besides the usual dishes at Yodakimbi we could also enjoy the nabe – chicken shabu-shabu. Delicious!

A Friend from Todai

Met Uwe at Naka-meguro station at 6:45 pm for dinner at Yodakimbo. Uwe is a friend that I met when I was doing research at the University of Tokyo (Todai) in 2003-2005. We have stayed in touch over the years now and then, but since a 1.5 years back we lost contact.

It turned out he and his wife had moved out of Tokyo for job reasons. I found him by googling his name, joining some obscure German variant of linkedin. Eventually I found and called him.

Today we met as this is his last day in Japan for a while. He has to go back to Germany for family reasons and will fly out of Narita tomorrow. His wife will join him in a month or so once he has found an apartment in Berlin.

It was really nice to see him again. We had a good time eating, drinking, and talking. Time flew and soon it was time to leave. We got into a taxi together, the biggest I have ever seen in Tokyo. We made a brief stop to drop Chie and me off while Uwe continued to his hotel.

Take care Uwe, and looking forward to seeing you soon in Japan again 🙂
