RNJ at Gumbo

We met with Raider Nation Japan at Gumbo in Naka-Meguro after work. Talks and dinner. The talks were fun, but the food was only so-so.

Holiday and Breakfast at Home

Another of these lovely Japanese national holidays. Love it! Chie and I had a relaxing breakfast at home. Some leftover tuna toast from yesterday and Swedish egg sandwiches. Yummy!

Green Da Yo!

Riding my bike along Meguro river today was strange. It was like riding along a river of green tea. Never seen the river this colour before. It looked yummy 😛

Pool Side

Chie also took the day off today. We spent the morning together at the pool side about 250 meters away from the apartment. It was quite cooling to stay in the shadow and then to cool off further in the pool when the shadow got too hot.

A funny thing with Japanese public pools is that every 50 minutes the lifeguards call everyone out of the pool. To make sure everyone rest and get warm, because whether you are a grown up or a kid visiting with your parents you are not capable of making that sure for yourself 😉 Then the lifeguards checked that nobody was on the bottom of the pool (surprisingly people tend to drown about 49+ minutes after entering the pool… NOT). I laughed all the way home.

Saturday Walk and Birthday Dinner

Chie and I went for a walk. We strolled up to Daikanyama for some window-shopping. At a point we did some real shopping too, we bought two stools and a blanket from Klippan. The stools had a green seat with a lamb on it, which sound kind of childish but they were pretty nice. On our way home we passed… My building 🙂

Oops!!!

In the evening we met with Mina-sensei and Tomoko-san. It was Mina-sensei’s birthday. We went to Bistro Mikami, which is about 50 meters from home. But that is not why we go there. The food is great, and so it was tonight as well. And the dessert? Superb. I had two helpings of fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Simple but delicious.
