Bomhus

After a few great days in Eh with grandmother and John it was time to move to Gävle. First stop was at my father’s place in Bomhus.

We arrived early in the afternoon and met my father and one of his grandchildren, Nathan. After a while we were joined by my youngest brother Jimmy, his wife Emma, and their kid Oliver (who was like the Duracel rabbit – monkey in Japan).

Later on Nathan’s parents joined us as well, my brother Henrik and his wife Sherry. As did my father’s wife Eva (getting back from her job).

We all had dinner together. At least the adults – the kids were more or less all over the place the whole evening 😉

Since it was 2 years we last visited Sweden we had a lot to catch up on. We talked and had a fun time.

Late in the night we were exhausted and went to our room. And dropped dead in our bed…. Zzzzzzzzz.

Eh…

Today we lett Amsterdam for Eh, where my grandmother’s summer house is located. Just at the end of a dirt road next to the lake. It is very quiet here and we are usually able to sleep a lot. This time was no exception 🙂

Between sleeping we ate good home cooked food. And read. Both Chie and I have started on Anne Frank’s diary that we bought in Amsterdam. Chie also spent some time playing on her Nintendo DS.

It was a bit cold so most of the time I had a jacket on while sleeping or reading outside. Chie spent a lot of time inside because it was too cold outside 🙂

When we did not eat, sleep, or rest we spent time talking with grandmother and John, and going through pictures of events since we met them the last time, 2 years ago.

It was great to see grandma and John again. And as always we had a fun time and could relax a lot.

Ocean View

A day away from the office. I spent it taking care of the laundry, giving a digital camera to charity, buying sandwiches for our flight and more.

At 4 pm when I met Chie at the Shinagawa station I was quite tired. But that was very good since I spent most of the flight to Honolulu sleeping.

In Honolulu we were pleasantly surprised by two things. First, we could check in to our room already when we arrived at 10 am. Secondly, for the first time at Waikiki Sand Villa we got an ocean view 😉

We spent half an hour on the balcony before we went out for some serious shopping. There are many things we want to buy that are not available in Tokyo. Like iTunes pre-paid cards, for US iTunes. And Lululemon Athletica.

Tsubame Grill

Still feels like being on a vacation. Left office early to visit a chiropractor. Then met with Chie to go back to Shinagawa

Back at Shinagawa we walked to the hotel, went to the club lounge where we relaxed drinking beer and Perrier. And eating nuts like nuts (sorry).

By 7 we had finished at the lounge and were at the Tsubame Grill. We had Nordic style herring, grilled scallops, asparagus, special tomato salad, and their speciality which is hamburg steak. Yummy!

Right now I am in bed writing this waiting for my ice cream that we ordered from room service 🙂

Bye, Bye Kaua’i

This is then end… Of our Golden Week vacation 2010. It is always with mixed feelings that we return to Tokyo. On the one hand it is sad to leave Kaua’i. On the other hand it is going to be fun to get back home to e.g. visit Coco again.

We left Poipu Plantation resort around 4:45 in the morning. Our flight out of Kaua’i was the first in the morning. Then it was a looong flight back to Tokyo in economy class. Luckily we had seats in an exit row so we could stretch our legs.

We will be back in Kaua’i next year too 🙂
