Tea Ceremony & Year End Dinner

Last tea ceremony for this year. Once finished we all had year end dinner at a nearby izakaya.

New Year’s Day

As usual we visited the nearby shrine on the first day of the new year. And as usual we bought tigers for Coco, Chie and me 🙂

Coco and three tigers.

Every day during the New Year’s holiday we’ve had nothing but blue skies. Coco and I have taken advantage of it by taking walks. Sometimes a couple of times a day. Afterwards Coco has been exhausted so he has slept a lot. If he gets a chance he will jump up and sleep on the shoulder of Chie or me when we sit in the reclining chair. You can’t do nothing but love it 🙂

Fur coat?

After the New Year Eve’s dinner we have eaten Japanese preserved food, which is an old tradition. The reason is that traditionally Japan closes down for about 4 days during New Year. Also, it enabled the housewives to actually get some days off from cooking.

At the end of the 2nd day of the new year we went back to Tokyo. It was quite nice to get home again.

New Year

We spent the New Year in Tokorozawa with Coco the dog. As usual the day before the New Year’s eve we had shabu-shabu for dinner.

Shabu-shabu

On the day of the New Year’s eve we left Coco at home to go to the fish market. Same procedure as every year, James… And as last year, and the year before, and the year before… It was packed with people. Phew.

It was good to get home so I could stretch my legs by walking with Coco. Then we prepared for dinner. Hand rolled sushi and crab. Yummy!

Coco the sheep???

On New Year’s day Chie, Coco and I went to the temple. Three tigers this year as well. To protect us from evil and sickness. Haven’t been sick so far, but the managers at the office are quite evil 😉 So maybe my tiger just have half its expected functionality.
