Kiahuna

Spent most of the day in the shadow of a palm tree at Kiahuna. The monk seal was gone, but we still had a great time 🙂

Afterwards we went to Tortilla Republic for drinks. Chie had a Mai Tai and I had a virgin Strawberry Daiquiri.

Once at home we had kalbi for dinner. Yummy!

Salt Pond Beach

Spent the mostly cloudy day at a still hot Salt Pond Beach.

In the evening we had bacon and tomato sauce pasta. Yummy!

Moloa Bay

Got up late and skipped the Farmer’s Market to go directly to Moloa Bay. The day was beautiful with lots of sun, some wind to cool it down a notch, and a lot of sand. We had a fun time.

On our way home we got caught in a traffic jam so instead of crawling forward we stopped at Brick Oven Pizza for dinner. It was quite OK, and when we were finished the traffic jam was no more. Great!

Kiahuna

First thing we did in the morning was to go to the airport. At 10:20 am or so we arrived at Kauai, got our rental car and drove to sunny Poipu.

We could check in at Poipu Plantation at once and we just quickly unpacked, got into our swim wear and off we went for an afternoon at Kiahuna beach.

Chie and Monk seal at Kiahuna

We were not alone at the beach. With us was also a Hawaiian Monk Seal. She’d been there for a couple of days they said. Pregnant.

In the evening we had Japanese curry at home. Yummy!
