Kiahuna

Spent our final day at the Kiahuna beach. Big waves, sun and lots of fun.

Another monk seal hand stranded at about the same place as the one we saw the first day. This one had some nasty scars on the back, but seemed quite comfortable in the sun next to an on-the-beach wedding.

In the evening we packed and had our traditional last-evening pizza.

Farmers’ Market and Poipu Beach

In the morning we went to the Kauai Community College for the Farmers’ Market. We bought so many local produces like bags, noni “paper” and, of course, some more Moloa Bay Coffee. We also had a chance to talk with Daphne and John again and they gave us some Biwacha (Japanese yellow plum tea) and coffee.

When we had finished shopping at the market we went to Poipu Beach for some relaxing in the sun and swimming in the sea. It was GREAT!

In the evening we had anchovy cream sauce pasta at home.

Kiahuna and Lihue

Went to Kiahuna in the morning, after a brief stop to buy a new pair of swim shorts for me. Stayed at the beach until 2 pm when the sky got black.

We went shopping in Lihue instead. A pair of jeans, new Maui Jim for Chie and me, and vitamins among other things.

Dinner was crab cream sauce pasta. Yummy!

Moloa Bay (Coffee Farm)

Went to Moloa Bay for a day in the sun. In Kapaa town we stopped at Moloa Bay Coffee store to buy coffee.

After the beach we stopped at Moloa Bay Coffee farm to get a tour by the owners John and Daphne. They showed us their coffee trees and, more importantly, their cocoa trees. And cinnamon trees and banana trees and much more. Very friendly.

In evening we had leftovers at home while watching American Idol.

Hanelei Bay

Spent the day at Hanelei bay. Had a short stop at Common Ground where I bought raw chocolate made in Kauai and a mint chocolate smoothie that was quite tasty even though it most likely was quite healthy.

On our way home we stopped at the Lighthouse to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Though it was closed we still celebrated it.
