Visiting Kobuchihama

Visiting people in Kobuchihama. Giving some gifts from Tokyo and receiving tea, Cola and food in return 🙂

Flowers

We stayed at Atagoso, the ryokan that was almost totally destroyed in the tsunami but that they have now rebuilt. We had a great dinner at Atagoso and friends from Kobuchihama joined. We spent most of the evening talking and eating, before I got so tired I just had to go to bed.

Leaving Kauai for this Time

Woke up at 5am to catch our flight to Honolulu. In Honolulu we spent 3.5 hours at the Delta Lounge before departing for Tokyo.

A view of Kauai

Kiahuna

Spent our final day at the Kiahuna beach. Big waves, sun and lots of fun.

Another monk seal hand stranded at about the same place as the one we saw the first day. This one had some nasty scars on the back, but seemed quite comfortable in the sun next to an on-the-beach wedding.

In the evening we packed and had our traditional last-evening pizza.

Farmers’ Market and Poipu Beach

In the morning we went to the Kauai Community College for the Farmers’ Market. We bought so many local produces like bags, noni “paper” and, of course, some more Moloa Bay Coffee. We also had a chance to talk with Daphne and John again and they gave us some Biwacha (Japanese yellow plum tea) and coffee.

When we had finished shopping at the market we went to Poipu Beach for some relaxing in the sun and swimming in the sea. It was GREAT!

In the evening we had anchovy cream sauce pasta at home.

Kiahuna and Lihue

Went to Kiahuna in the morning, after a brief stop to buy a new pair of swim shorts for me. Stayed at the beach until 2 pm when the sky got black.

Kiahuna

We went shopping in Lihue instead. A pair of jeans, new Maui Jim for Chie and me, and vitamins among other things.

Dinner was crab cream sauce pasta. Yummy!
