Tea Ceremony

Today was tea ceremony class again. Chie and I went together to Shibuya. Last time taking that particular train to that particular platform in Shibuya – the line will change route and platform. Nostalgic.

Chie in Shibuya Ofuro

From Shibuya we went in different directions. Chie went to Shinjuku for face treatment and I went to have a tea ceremony class, which went quite well.

Bistro Mikami

Chie and I had dinner at Bistro Mikami. We got seats at the corner of the counter. Small space but that does not really affect the taste of the food, which was as usual exceptional. The best part? Dessert!!!

Final Class at GLOBIS

Today I had my final class at GLOBIS. Well, it was not the last class but in two weeks when the actual final class is then I’ll be on a business trip to California, USA.

As usual I was riding my bike passed the Tokyo Tower and Chie’s office. As usual I was calling her when I was at her office, but today she was in a meeting and did not call me back until I had already passed her office by half a kilometre.

Tokyo Tower

I had a short stop at MacDonald’s for a quick dinner. I was a bit late today because I had hold a training just before I had to leave the office.

The usual suspects showed up at the class. And one of the guys, he is from New Zealand, had brought Mermite with him. It is some fermented vegetable paste similar that smells pretty bad though the taste is not that bad. He mentioned that the only Mermite factory in New Zealand was hit pretty hard by the big earthquake there a while back and had to stop the production for a while. The whole country got crazy as they all seem to be hooked on Mermite 🙂

Marmite

After the class I joined for the nomika (drinking party). My plan was to join for 30 minutes to drink a mineral water. I did have the mineral water but I got stuck in a discussion with people there and stayed a bit too late. I was quite tired when I rode my bike home.

Visiting Coco

On Saturday morning Chie and I drove to Tokorozawa for another visit to Coco the dog. The weather was lovely so I had wonderful walks with Coco both Saturday and Sunday.

Blue sky and plum blossom

After we have walked Coco is usually very tired, and crawls up in someones lap to sleep. Or, his favourite place, is as a neck warmer when you are sitting in the reclining chair. Sometimes he just sits in the lap and tries to stay awake… His eyes slowly closing, popping up, closing, opening, closing and then not really managing to open again. 🙂

Coco

On Sunday we were quite lucky. Chie had been to the grocery store while I was taking Coco for a walk. When we got back and it was time to start preparing for dinner we realised something was missing from the shopping list so I had to go and get it. I jumped into the car and… It did not start. Battery was dead. This may not seem so lucky, but it was because the gas station was still open so we called them and they dropped by to start the car. We kept it running for an hour so when we was returning to Tokyo the battery had enough power to get us going.

The lucky part is that if we had not missed out on the shopping list then we would not have started the car until we were to return to Tokyo. At that time basically every place in Tokorozawa that could charge a battery would have been closed. So lucky us that we forget things 🙂

RNJ at Football Lounge

I was really tired after what felt like a month long week. But we had a meeting with Raider Nation Japan at the Football Lounge in Shinjuku. Though I was tired it was fun to meet with RNJ, and watch one of the few win games from last season.

Mash-san and Moonlight-san

We also watched a few summaries of past seasons. Seasons when Raiders were great – 1976, 1980 and 1983. It seems like ages ago. It was fun to watch the win for once, and it was fun to be reminded again about how much the equipment has changed from that time.
