Saturday Walk and Birthday Dinner

Chie and I went for a walk. We strolled up to Daikanyama for some window-shopping. At a point we did some real shopping too, we bought two stools and a blanket from Klippan. The stools had a green seat with a lamb on it, which sound kind of childish but they were pretty nice. On our way home we passed… My building 🙂

Oops!!!

In the evening we met with Mina-sensei and Tomoko-san. It was Mina-sensei’s birthday. We went to Bistro Mikami, which is about 50 meters from home. But that is not why we go there. The food is great, and so it was tonight as well. And the dessert? Superb. I had two helpings of fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Simple but delicious.

Il Lupone

After work Chie and I met for dinner at Il Lupone – an Italian restaurant a few hundred meters from home. Yummy!

Got a Job

Woke up a felt much better, though not 100% as I was quite weak. I still went to work as I was quite busy.

In the afternoon my manager told me that the grading presentation and interview with Head of HR to decide about a “permanent” employment had been concluded and that it went excellent 🙂 It means I will become a full-time-until-further-notice employee of Sony Mobile. Feels a bit more secure than the one-by-one year contract I have had and that will expire by August 20 this year.

I celebrated by buying 10 lottery tickets from a work colleague (Henrik Enckell). His three daughters are selling them on behalf of their school and to support building a playground for children in Tohoku. All prizes are donated by different companies so the whole cost of the ticket is going straight to building the playground. I bought 10 tickets for 2500 yen.

When I got home and told Chie about the lottery, she wanted 10 tickets for herself and 10 for her work colleague too. Neither of us really care about winning but are thinking that now 7500 yen is going into the playground.

Delta Machine and Stomach Flu

In the morning I downloaded my pre-ordered Depeche Mode Delta Machine album to my iPhone – it was released today. Listened to it throughout the morning. The album was good (though a bit darker and harder than previous albums) and many of the songs are of a character that they will grow on you.

By lunch time I felt really bad. I went home. Slept throughout most of the day, with a small exception from praying to the porcelain good. In the evening Chie had bought me salad and I had half of it – the only thing I had to eat since breakfast, which I actually had offered to the porcelain good. Then I went back to sleep.

Dinner with Sachi-san

My “Japanese mother” Sachi-san had just returned from a vacation in Bali – Toku-san is still there. She wanted to have company for dinner so we joined here at KotoKoto. Besides great food we also had a fun time catching up on the latest with Sachi-san and Toku-san. They plan to move to Bali for their retirement. Toku-san as soon as this year.
