GLOBIS Class Day 1

Today my class in Critical Thinking started at GLOBIS. I had prepared my homework and got on my bike after work, bicycled across the town, passing by a lit Tokyo Tower, to join the class from 7 pm. It was a 3 hours fun class than ended in a nomikai (drinking party) afterwards – mineral water for me. At 11:30 pm I got on my bike and rode it across the town back home. Two weeks until the next class.

Peninsula

We spent a long weekend at the Peninsula this weekend. We checked in early on Friday, got our things in order in the Room 1703, and enjoyed the view for a while.

After a while the view got boring 😉 so we went downstairs to have afternoon tea. I believe we had 3, or maybe 4, cups of tea each. And a bunch of sandwiches, scones with marmalade, and cakes. Needless to say, we were quite full once we finished around 4:3 pm. Luckily the elevator was close by so we at least got back to our rooms for a rest.

Afternoon tea

Every day during our stay we went to the gym. Some running. Some weight lifting. And a lot of rainforest and cool mint showers, along with quite some time in the steam sauna. Relaxing 🙂

Saturday was shopping day. Actually, we did not shop so much but at least I found a pair of pants and a down west before we had dinner at Manten Sushi. It was an interesting restaurant with a fixed menu. And the sushi was tasty.

Sunday was the last day. We enjoyed it as much as we could, and checked out just before our “late checkout” deadline at around 3 pm. Then it was Sayonara Peninsula… AT least until next year 🙂

New Year

We spent the New Year in Tokorozawa with Coco the dog. As usual the day before the New Year’s eve we had shabu-shabu for dinner.

Shabu-shabu

On the day of the New Year’s eve we left Coco at home to go to the fish market. Same procedure as every year, James… And as last year, and the year before, and the year before… It was packed with people. Phew.

It was good to get home so I could stretch my legs by walking with Coco. Then we prepared for dinner. Hand rolled sushi and crab. Yummy!

Coco the sheep???

On New Year’s day Chie, Coco and I went to the temple. Three tigers this year as well. To protect us from evil and sickness. Haven’t been sick so far, but the managers at the office are quite evil 😉 So maybe my tiger just have half its expected functionality.
