New Year’s Eve

As usual when we are in Tokorozawa during the New Year’s celebrations we go to the fish market. And as usual the fish market is crowded. It feels a lot like “same procedure as last year James…”, if you know what I mean. But in difference to the same New Year’s show on Swedish TV the fish market is fun… Every year. Though you need sharp elbows 🙂

In the evening we had hand-rolled sushi and crab for dinner (Coco had chicken), while waiting for the new year to arrive.

Going to Tokorozawa for New Year

After making a lot of preparations we finally got off to Tokorozawa to celebrate the new year with Coco. Almost directly after getting to Tokorozawa I took Coco for a walk. We passed a field with horse radish (daikon in Japanese) that looked more like someone had plunged them into the soil than they were growing out of it 🙂

In the evening we all enjoyed shabu-shabu for dinner. Well, Coco had to manage without shabu-shabu, but he got a yummy dog dish instead 😉

Yaki-Niku with Sensei

Chie and I met with Mina-sensei in Shinjuku today to have dinner at a Korean BBQ restaurant. I had some pork and some kalbi, and salad whereas Chie and Mina-sensei had intestines. We finished off with some spicy soup and cold noodles. Yummy!

Dinner at Yasaka

This autumn has been quite busy and it is showing now at the end of the year. The frequency at which we have dinner out has incased. Today we went to one of our favorite restaurants, Yasaka. As usual it was both fun and yummy!

Yaki-Niku on Christmas Day

Chie and I spent almost the whole day watching Football. Christmas Eve is always packed with games and since game time is afternoon or evening US time it will be the day after in the morning Tokyo time. Though we could not watch it live we could follow the Raider’s game live on the Internet. We WON \(^o^)/

In the evening we were too exhausted to cook. So we again went for yaki-niku. It was (almost) as yummy as the other day 🙂
