Club Leo & Horrible Bosses

Met with Club Leo in Shunjuku to watch the movie Horrible Bosses. The movie was quite OK to watch, but very much like bubble gum. You like the taste while chewing but afterwards, once you spit the gum out, you cannot really remember the taste of it.

After the movie we went to a Japanese restaurant where we had sashimi, tempura and many other kinds of Japanese food. Yummy!

Astro Boy T-Shirt

I wore my new t-shirt with an Astro Boy hologram on it. When you view it from one direction it is Astro Boy from the outside. If you look at it from another direction you can see the inside of Astro Boy, how he is constructed 🙂

Black Duck UG Seminar

In the afternoon I got on a train to Yurakucho from where I had a walk past the Emperor’s garden and palace. It was a beautiful day and I wanted to make the best of it. I was on my way to Black Duck UG Japan seminar. They provide a tool for us that is very much related to my work as an Open Source Officer, so I wanted to see what other companies in Japan were doing with the tool.

It was quite OK seminar, though I could understand only 25% of it because it was in Japanese. Anyway, Alan Facey is Black Duck’s Head of Field Operations and he held a keynote speech in English. I got that a 100% 🙂 After the seminar I had a chance to talk to Alan as well, which was a nice fellow. He confirmed my view on the level of Open Source maturity in Japan and in the mobile device industry supply chain.

Back in Tokyo

Finally back in Tokyo. Flight arrived on time and we quickly got through immigrations and out through the customs. In a couple of hours from touch down we were back home unpacking our bags.

Once most of the bags were unpacked we went to Yasaka for dinner. It was nice having Japanese food instead of American junk food. It’s too oily and to cheesy for my liking. And usually my stomach gets quite upset. This trip was no exception. So to be back in Tokyo and have great food at Yasaka was very nice 🙂
