Yasaka with Work Colleagues & Friends

Once my meeting had finished at 7 pm I left the office. I met up with Martin Dremo (work colleague from Lund) in the Shinagawa station. Together we went to Yasaka for dinner.

At first it was only Martin and me, then Andreas (work colleague here in Japan) and Jonas (chef at Swedish Embassy) and Andrea (friend of Jonas) dropped by. Soon Chie came as well.

Together we had a fun time. Eating. Drinking. Talking. Laughing. And we killed Tanaka-san at least a hundred time.

Tanaka-san is a guy working at Yasaka. He is from the Osaka area and can, thus, be killed by a “hand” gun or an air sword.

Getting Hot Hot Hot

I can feel the summer is coming. It is not super hot yet but you can feel it in that the sun is starting to get hot.

Today when I was walking Coco he tried to walk as much as possible in the shadow. And still it was not more than 24 degrees or so. But man… The sun… Getting hot I tell you.

Though the sun was hot we had a few short stops to take some photos. The first stop was to take a photo of a few women picking tea leaves. Around this area there a quite a few tea farms and factories. And these women, I guess, are working for one of the farms/factories.

Next stop was to take a photo of Coco and me. To “prove” that we actually were out walking together… Though Coco don’t seem to like it much on the photo.

In the evening we had mabu-nasu and a lot of other dishes. Mainly vegetable dishes. Yummy!

Oh, and the last picture is of Coco waiting for Chie to get back from the grocery store. Actually, Coco spends quite a lot of time on this chair watching the street outside… Waiting for Chie.

Bye, Bye Kaua’i

This is then end… Of our Golden Week vacation 2010. It is always with mixed feelings that we return to Tokyo. On the one hand it is sad to leave Kaua’i. On the other hand it is going to be fun to get back home to e.g. visit Coco again.

We left Poipu Plantation resort around 4:45 in the morning. Our flight out of Kaua’i was the first in the morning. Then it was a looong flight back to Tokyo in economy class. Luckily we had seats in an exit row so we could stretch our legs.

We will be back in Kaua’i next year too 🙂

An Old Friend

Today we met an old friend of ours at Kiahuna beach. “V20” the monk seal was again laying lazily at the beach. Of course we went there to say hello, though he seemed not to recognize us. Probably asleep.

The rest of the day we spent reading, talking, Chie drinking some Mai Tai, playing in the water and just relaxing and enjoying our last day in Kaua’i… For this time 😎

We stayed at Kiahuna beach until 6 pm, enjoying the last rays of warm sun before we had to leave.

Before leaving we walked up to a newly married couple laying next to us on the beach. They would stay about 1 more week at Kaua’i so we gave them our sun chairs. Kind of to return the favor to the one that gave them to us. Pass it on 🙂

Then it was the last preparations before going back to Japan. $10 Kauai chocolate for Johan. $25 gas for the car. $X XXXX for a friend (the X:es are just in case the friend reads this ;-)). And then home for dinner and packing.

Poipu Beach… Again

I am starting to get annoyed at the monk seals now. Today another one was stranded at Poipu Beach. Result? Half the beach was sealed off for him (guess it was a him from the size). No space for us humans 😉

And the ocean was full of sea turtles. At least we saw two turtles again. They seem to come in towards the beach to eat sea weed from the rocks, or whatever they eat.

And everywhere there are chickens (wild chickens). Today a cardinal visited too. And we gave him a piece of bred. He seemed very happy.

Too many animals. Cannot concentrate on reading so I had some chips instead.

At 5 pm we went home and had crab cream sauce past with salad for dinner. Yummy!
