Kappo R

Joined Martin and Andreas at the office and walked to the Shinagawa station and the Yamanote-sen. Martin was heading for the Konami Sports Club in Meguro and Andreas and me for Kappo R.

Kappo R is a Japanese style restaurant in Ebisu. With really good food. And we had a lot of it. While talking about nothing and everything.

Afterwards we walked a short distance to Red Pepper for desert. Andreas and I had vanilla ice cream, chocolate cake, and peach sorbet. Chie and Andreas had grappa and cheese. Andreas wanted to have everything 🙂

Earthquake

Woke up at 4 am this morning. Jet lagged. Could not sleep. Read a book instead. And got shaken at around 5 am by an earthquake. No damages, not even close to the epicenter in Shizuoka.

Earthquake in Tokyo?

Newspaper in Sweden reported about an earthquake in Tokyo (headline). Which turned out to be on Izu Islands about 320 km south west of Tokyo. And something that Tokyoianer did not notice at all.

Correction, it seems that Chie and I had too much fun having dinner at Yasaka to notice the earthquake. Practically everybody else in Tokyo, except those at Yasaka, noticed the earthquake 😮

Hanabi

In the evening they had a 1.5 hours long firework (花火 – hanabi or flower + fire) in Tokyo bay. Though we are far from Tokyo bay we could hear it and see it from our balcony.

It was quite beautiful and probably a lot of people watching it. I guess Tokyo Tower felt a bit lonely since the tower seemed to get attention by changing colors in pace with the fireworks.

Returning to Tokyo

Last few hours in Sweden for this time. Arlanda Express to the airport. Checked in. Walked around and did some omiyage shopping. Boarded. Read. Transferred at Schiphol. Boarded. Fell asleep. Dinner. Fell asleep. Breakfast. Arrived at Narita. Bus to Tokyo. Taxi home. HOME!
