Ishiki Beach

Last day of the summer season. At least if you look at the different beaches in the Tokyo area. But note that this is Japanese measures. In Sweden 32 degrees would mean a very good and hot summer day. Here… Well, end of beach season.

We celebrated by going to the Ishiki beach. Just as earlier this year. Why? It’s quite a nice beach. And convenient access by train and bus from Naka-Meguro.

We arrived at the beach around 10:30 am and spread out our blankets in the black sand. It was not so much people there at that time. They arrived later.

Past noon some time we got hungry and went to a small food stand. Same as we went to the last time. Again we bought a sausage and yaki-soba. Again, yummy!

By 3:30 pm we got on the bus back to the Zushi train station to get back in Naka-Meguro by just before 5 pm. Quite exhausted from a long day in the sun.

But one should not complain about good weather. Tomorrow a typhoon is arriving. Bringing rain, wind and probably thunder. So tomorrow afternoon I’ll probably wish I was exhausted by too much sun after a day on the beach rather than being wet to the bones by heavy rain.

Harry Potter & Red Pepper

Met Andreas at Toho Virgin cinema in Roppongi Hills at 3:30 pm. The Harry Potter movie were going to watch started at 3:45 pm. 15 minutes is just enough time to buy popcorn, something to drink, and a last visit to the bathrooms.

The movie was so so. One of the drawbacks is that the actor behind the main character is not an actor. Another drawback is that there is no story.

After the movie we moved on to Ebisu and Red Pepper for dinner. And was joined by Henning and Miyako-san, two friends of Andreas. We enjoyed a lot of food and the company.

Raider Nation Japan Pre-Season 2009

Just before 3 pm the first Raider Nation Japan member knocked or our door. Actually, Mash-san used the bell but it is a better flow in “knocked on the door” than “rang the bell”. More poetic… Or something.

After Mash-san, Black Panther-san and Moonlight-san arrived. And finally the guest appearance from Club Leo, Ryo-san.

Once everyone had arrived Chie started cooking. First Japanese dishes. Then Chinese dishes. Everyone ate and was happy.

Between the dishes we watched Raiders games. The first pre-season game of the season against Dallas Cowboys. Then a game against Tampa Bay Buccaneers from last year. And finally we watched the game against New York Jets that we visited last year.

Everyone had a great time. At 10 pm the last guests left. Chie went to bed. And I tried to live up to being the best guy in the world by doing the dishes.

Camera Shop

Andreas is interested in Cameras. I am too, but not even close to the interest Andreas shows in the small optical things.

Still, I like them enough to go on a trip with Andreas to Nakano to visit some Camera shops there. We left the office a little earlier than usual and got on the train to Shinjuku and then onwards to Nakano.

It was fun to watch all the different cameras and lenses in the shop. I tried out a few lenses for my camera too.

Once we got tired of cameras… Or rather once we got more hungry than interested in cameras we got on a train back to Ebisu. Here we tried a new restaurant that was quite OK.

Then we continued to the CAM bar in Ebisu. After about 15 minutes Chie called. Her dinner with a friend had ended and she was joining us at the bar in a few minutes. We had a fun time together the three of us. Too fun and too late.
