Tea Ceremony

Another tea ceremony. I enjoy going to tea ceremony. It is very relaxing.

A few months back I had a stressful time at the office, and at that time I had difficulties concentrating on the tea ceremony. This seems contradictory to what I mentioned above, but please let me explain. Tea ceremony is not relaxing automagically just like meditation is not relaxing automagically.

You have to have a purpose and, at least to some degree, be able and comfortable with it. So I have re-decided that tea ceremony is important enough for not letting office issues cloud my mind during “tea time”.

Bell pepper Edamame - soy beans

Oh, on my way to the tea ceremony, just outside my sensei’s home, I found bell pepper and edamame (soy beans).

Dhaba India

A day of meeting with Club Leo. But on the way to the meeting Non got sick and returned home so we ended up with a sub-committee only: Ryo, Chie and me.

We met at the Dhaba India not so far from the Tokyo Station. Chie and I had a few bags with us since we had been shopping in Ginza for our trip to Sweden.

Ryo Chie & Johan at Dhaba India

We had a good time together (though missing Non) talking, eating and drinking. The Indian food at Dhaba India is really good and from south part of India.

We had so much food we had to take a slow walk back to Ginza afterwards. While walking the food seems to come to rest in our stomachs, making space for desert.

We ended up at Pescaderia. Another of our favorite restaurants and with the same owner as Red Pepper and Walnuts. We had “home made” caramel ice cream, mango sherbet, and apple pie with vanilla ice cream. Yummy!

かぎを忘れちゃったん – Forgot the Key

I got a phone call from Chie in the late afternoon while I was still at work. She had forgot her key at the office. What to do? I finished up fast and went on my way home.

Chie, on the other side of town (sounded good though not true), had come up with a perfect solution. Which she text messaged me “YASAKAにいます” – I’m at YASAKA.

I got there in less than 30 minutes and we enjoyed a great dinner together. Talking about the week and our plan to go to Sweden in just a couple of weeks or so.

Ginger Ale

I have planned for a long time to make my own Ginger Ale. Why? Because I like Ginger Ale and I think it would taste better doing it yourself. Also, you do not add any chemicals at all.

Soon-to-be Ginger Ale Ginger Ale in the make

So cutting ginger in small pieces, cutting red pepper, add cinnamon sticks and clove, and finally top of with honey and water. Boil. Let it cool. Top with some lemon. Tada! Ginger Ale essence. Just add Club Soda and enjoy 😛

Visit to Tokorozawa

We went to Tokorozawa this morning. And I scraped and painted some other part of the house’s vind panels in the afternoon.

Waiting for dinner I played some with Coco. And we waited together for Chie when she went to the grocery store to buy food for the dinner. We had shabu-shabu.

Waiting for Chie Tired

After dinner I was too tired to do anything but go straight to bed.
