Back in Stockholm

Today I had to return to Stockholm. My vacation is over. I already long for the next time I can see Chie again. We are already planning the Christmas.

Anyway, Chie drove me to Narita airport in the morning. No traffic. But more people waiting in line for the Lufthansa check-in.

I was seated beside a Japanese girl that was sick. She looked strange when we took off and then she puked in the paper bag and then she went away. She was away for more than half of the trip before she returned to her seat. She seemed better after she returned.

The transfer at Frankfurt went without any problems. And after arriving at Arlanda I took a taxi home. With a very talkative taxi driver.

At home I unpacked. Had something to eat. Then took a shower. And went to bed. I was really tired.

Dinner at Kiichi

Just before noon Chie and I went by train to Mina-sensei for a tea ceremony class. We also had lunch close to Mina-sensei’s home. Soba. It was tasty and refreshing.

At the tea ceremony class the usual suspects were present. But today a new girl was also there. Some work colleague from Mina-sensei’s office.

First Mina-sensei prepared thick tea for us. And then I was the first student to prepare tea. It has always been this way for some reason. I managed quite well considering I had not taken a since Christmas. I did not do any big mistakes.

After the tea ceremony Chie and I went to Ebisu. They had summer festival there. So many people. Taiko (drums). Food stands. Chaotic.

We watched for a while and then we continued to Kiichi for dinner. Again I had so many different delicious sushi. Fish that I cannot get in Sweden. And so much yummier.

When our dinner was over we rolled back to Chie’s appartment. But on the way there we decided to go to Grotta for Tequila and Ginger Ale. Grotta is a bar owned by the brother to the owner of Yasaka. Anyway, Chie had some Tequila and I had some Ginger Ale.

And then we started to watch the soccer game between Japan and South Korea. A fight about 3rd place in the Asian Cup 2007. Halfway or so through we went back home where we continued to watch until, unfortunately, Japan lost.

Dinner at Kan in Naka-meguro

Most of the morning today I upgraded her iBook’s hard disk. The original was only 30 GB and almost full. The new one is 80 GB. It was quite the job to upgrade it since I had to disassemble the whole iBook. It took about 2 hours to disassemble and assemble the iBook.

Then it was time to install Mac OS X and to transfer all the data from the old hard drive to the new. The installation of Mac OS X was easy and almost managed itself. The transfer of the old hard drive was eaven easier. Just choose th option ‘I want to transfer data from…’ and everything, including installed software was transfered to the new hard drive.

While Mac OS X was installing and data transferring I started packing for my trip to back to Sweden. It was hard work since I had so many things. And many things that I could not check-in but had to carry on board the flight.

In the afternoon I had finished packing and Chie came home early from her job. We then went to massage in Naka-meguro together. It was great.

After the massage got on a train bound for Shibuya. Shibuya was packed with people as usual. We pushed our way through to Mont Bell outdoor equipment shop. I bought trekking chopsticks for a work colleague.

From Shibuya we took the bus back to the Naka-meguro area to have dinner at Kan. Japanese style dinner that was great. Almost as always the staff went outside the restaurant to say goodbye when we had finished our dinner. Everyone is always so friendly to us.

Dinner at Dahba India

In the morning I went to professor Kimura. The main reason was to continue the discussion on collaboration and to meet with his students. We had a good talk but unfortunately his students were away on summer holidays. It was OK though since I already had met with one of the two that professor Kimura was thinking about for the collaboration.

I stayed at the university to have lunch with Mario. We went to Sakura-sui, a cheap restaurant with good fish dishes. The day’s lunch is only 500 JPY (about 30 SEK) and includes a fish dish, unlimited amount of rice, miso soup, sea weed, and eggs. Today we both had fried fish.

At 3 pm I left Mario to meet with Chie in Kamiyacho. From there we continued to Roppongi hills to watch the new Harry Potter movie at Toho Cinemas. It was fun to watch.

After the movie Chie and I met with Club Leo for dinenr at Dahba India. We had a fun time and we had some great Indian food.

Dinner at Tonpo

Did not do much today. Went to the gym. Then met Chie in Ebisu to go to Harajuku for dinner at Tonpo. Chie and I arrived around 6 pm and started eating while waiting for Mina.

We had so many delicious dishes that, as usual, were quite different from the Chinese dishes that you are served at a Chinese restaurant in Sweden. Ohh, did I mention that Tonpo is a Chinese restaurant?

Mina & Chie outside Tonpo

Today was not so many guests at Tonpo. The main reason the owner explained was because it was pay day. And most men have to go home to their wifes’ to deliver the monthly payment. So they cannot go out for dinner.
