Yesterday we arrived in Tokyo at around 9 pm. The last Narita Express had already departed so we took a bus to the Tokyo Air City Terminal. From there we got into a taxi and drove to the APA Hotel in Nishi-Azabu, although I had to help the taxi driver to find the way.
After helping Torbjorn check-in at the hotel, they seemed to have lost his reservation, I continued to Naka-Meguro to stay with Chie.
Today we met with Professor Kimura at 10 pm for a 4 hour meeting, including lunch. We discussed how we could start collaborating. It was a successful meeting and I will see him again before I go back to Sweden by the end of July.
By 2 pm the meeting was over and Torbjorn and I continued to the most important event of the day, shopping at Bic Camera in Ginza. Torbjorn wanted to buy a digital camera for his wife and a memory card for his daughter’s cellular phone.
Just past 5 pm we left Bic Camera to have a dinner at Yasaka in Naka-Meguro. I had made a reservation for Torbjorn, Chie and me. We had so much kushiyaki that we had to roll back home – after dropping Torbjorn off at his hotel.
I also got a birthday cake from Chie. Mango-cake. And Torbjorn got a wild berry-cake. Both were delicious. Thank you Chie for always thinking about me. Not only did we celebrate my birthday in advance, but we also celbrated Orjan who is retiring from his job at Eurostep this week.
