Relaxing Day in Tokyo

Met Chie to have a lunch in Kamiyacho at noon. After that we went to Kasumigaseki because Chie had business to do at the METI. It took about 15 minutes.

METI is close to a park so afterwards we had a walk in the park, enjoying the nice weather (23 degrees). Found a non-occupied park bench where we relaxed for a while. Drank some water, dozed off.

Then we continued our walk, passing by the Emperial Palace and in to Ginza. Window shopping. Coffee/hot chocolate at Starbucks. Bic Camera. But not in that order.

On our way home we stopped at Tokyo Store to buy some bananas. And stopping at Yasaka for dinner. Again. Great again.

Nagoya & Toyota Shokki

Went to Nagoya to visit the Toyota-Shokki (Toyota Indistries Corporation). They make textile machinery, fork trucks, parts for cars, and a lot of other things. My meeting was with Nakamura-san – a contact I got through my fathers’s wife’s brother Jan – and was quite interesting.

We had lunch at a kaiten-sushi, which was the first time for me. OK but not great.

In the afternoon I went back to Tokyo, met Chie at Naka-Meguro, and went together to the gym. After the gym we had dinner at Tsukiji Sushiko restaurant. Sushi again, but this time it was tasty. Quite different from the kaiten-sushi earlier.

Post Office & Shabushabu

After breakfast in the morning Chie drove me to the post office – yes there are post offices here that are open on Sundays – to ship my things from the storage room. I had two plastic boxes – one weighing 18 kg and the other weighing 28 kg. It was actually not too expensive to ship it.

By noon we were at the gym working out. Chie was running and doing airobics while did some weight lifting. On our way home we stopped at Starbucks for coffee, hot chocolate, and sandwich.

In the evening we had shabushabu for dinner at home. As usual it was great, even though Yoshiki-san eat too fast.

Romeo & Juliet

Meeting with the Club Leo at Roppongi Hills Virgin cinema. First watching the Crash movie and then dinner at the Romeo & Juliet restaurant.

The movie was OK. But when we got to the restaurant it turned out to not be as on their web-site. In addition they had a wedding party there and the room we were in was located at the door. We ordered drinks but while having them we decided to go to Walnuts instead.

So we asked for the bill… And the manager came and said they were so sorry for the wedding party and that we of course did not have to pay for our drinks. One more round please!!!

Outside we found a taxi and asked to be driven to Walnuts. The taxi driver seemed half-dead and did for sure not know the way to Walnuts. Chie had to direct him from the backseat. But he offered me a chewing gum just before we took off.

At Walnuts we were welcomed by familiar faces. Even one of the managers from Red Pepper were there – it is the same owner so sometimes they rotate. Then we had a great dinner – even though they had a reunion party next to us. Salad, pasta, lamb, and, especially, the dessert was superb.

Yodakinbo

Had a lunch with Mario-san to discuss the soccer game yesterday and Berlusconi and other important things.

After my meeting with Mario-san I met Chie in Kamiyacho so that we could go together to the gym. And after the gym we went to Yodakinbo for dinner. At the end of our dinner we met a guy who was studing to become a lawyer. He was currently working in a high position at the Merrill Lynch but was quite tired of just making money out of nothing. He was very friendly and spoke good English so we had a good time.
