Hotel Rwanda

Met Chie in Kamiyacho at 5:30. From there we took the subway to Ginza. Checked some Chloe clothes and bought sandwich and sushi bento before going to a movie theatre to watch the movie Hotel Rwanda.

It was a great movie. Very strong emotions. It is difficult to even imagine how people can do such terrible things to fellow humans, and how the western world just stood by and did nothing.

On the way home it felt good to walk along the river again. To kind of calm down the emotions by viewing the sakura. And even though it was late at night it was crowded with people who was there for one reason only… to view the sakura.

Mina-sensei’s Birthday

After going to the gym in the afternoon I met Chie in Kamiyacho at 5:30 pm. Then we went to Roppongi Hills to kill the time for a while before going to Walnuts. At Walnuts we had dinner with Mina-sensei and Tomo-san. It was Mina-sensei’s birthday.

The dinner and company was great. But most of all I liked the desserts. I had coconut serbet and a Walnut and Strawberry dessert that was new on the menu. It was yummy!!!

Oh, and the sakura (cherry blossom) was on its peak today. Fully bloom and it was a beautiful view of cherry trees in full blossom along the Meguro-river.

Shibuya & Shinjuku

Went to Shibuya and Shinjuku today. In Shibuya it was full of people. It is spring break for the schools and all the students in Japan seems to end up here.

So I went to Shinjuku instead. Still quite a lot of people but not as much as in Shibuya. In Shinjuku I bought some books, six books by Robert B Parker for instance. Then I went back to Naka-Meguro and an hours running at Konami Sports.

Rolling Stones Once More…

During the day Chie and I had a walk along the Meguro river. The cherry blossom (sakura) had already started a little. And a lot of people had found their way out on the streets.

We walked along the river to Konami Sports where I renewed my membership. Then we took a bus to Shibuya to find paint for Chie’s apartment and to shop around some.

It was already past 6 pm when we got back to Naka-Meguro. And we decided to not cook dinner but to have a dinner at Yasaka instead. And so we did. It was great as usual.

By 9:15 pm we got back home. I just had time to take a quick hot bath and get ready before I could have a massage. It turned out that the sensei giving massage was a big Rolling Stones fan and had been to the same show as we had.

So before the massage could start we talked about the show and Rolling Stones for more than 20 mintues. This including several of Keith’s guitarr poses as well as Mick’s strutting and arm waving by the sensei.

Finally I got a massage while sensei continued to talk with Chie about Rolling Stones. Afterwards he told us that this was his best massage ever because he could talk about his favorite group. That he was late for his next appointment did not become him. He just called in and told them he was late and stuck in a traffic jam… At 11:30 pm? Sure!?
