New Year’s Evening

4 degrees in the room as I woke up this morning. My breath made a puffy little white cloud. I got dressed in light speed to get down to the warm kitchen as soon as possible.

When it got warmer outside Coco took me for a walk again. The sky was blue and it was very nice day. Though a little bit cold in the wind.

In the evening we watched some typical Japanese New Year’s T programs. Like K-1 fighting and some kind of sing contest or rather sing performance of famous Japanese artists. I prefer the K-1. But I agree that it is better to watch Japanese artist sing old style songs than watching K-1 while having dinner.

New year's dinner

Since it was New Year’s evening we had hand-roll sushi and crab. It was deliscious and we ate for a long time. Many of my favorite fishes were there, such as chu-toro and kampachi. The only thing that we did not eat was the salmon, which is not considered a good fish for sushi in Japan.

We all got quite tired after eating too much. But only Chie and Coco took a night nap. I had my nap during the afternoon instead. Once Coco woke up he wanted to play again.

Going to Tokorozawa for New Year

Quite early in the morning we took the car to Tokorozawa to spend the New Year. We bought the breakfast at Dotour and had breakfast in the car. Arriving in Tokorozawa we had green tea and some sweets as we usually do.

Then I had a walk with Coco as I usually do. Back at home I continued to play with Coco. Had a nap. Watched part of the last episode, or maybe it was a movie, of Hajime no Ippo where he fights a title match, looses and dies. Afterwards I swopped channels and Naruto was on. Then it was time for shabu-shabu dinner.

After dinner we continued to relax, watching TV and talking. Quite early I went to the secnd floor, entered my electric heated bed, put something on my head since I knew that it will be cold in the morning. And went to sleep.

Playing with Coco

Today I got home from quite early so that Chie and I could have a quick dinner at a ramen restaurant before we took the car to Tokorozawa. Arriving in Tokorozawa Coco was waiting for us. So happy to see us again. The rest of the weekend we played with Coco and took him for walks.

Fuji-san from Tokorozawa

I had a walk with Coco in the morning. It was a clear morning with frost on the ground and a clear view of Fuji-san.

Coco was a little bit tired after the walk and spent some time in the lap of Chie resting.

Dog Park in Tokorozawa

Coco really wanted to go to the dog park today. Or at least that was what Chie and I tried to convince our selves. We got to the park where the dog park is located and had a long walk first. It was fun to watch all the people in the park enjoying the good weather. Playing soccer and baseball and whatever.

Coco seemed to enjoy it as well. As long as he did not have to face any dogs. He is really not a dog-liking dog for some reason. He enjoys people-friends much more than dog-friends. In fact, he only have people-friends.

Then we went to the dog park. The first thing that happens is that I make a mistake of sitting down. And Coco takes the opportunity to jump up into my lap before any dog can get near him. I stand up and he slides miserable down to stand by himself.

We walk across the dog park and he runs after us and hides between Chie’s boots. Just before we are leaving another dog is coming up to sniff Coco. Coco tries to get away and finally hides in Chie’s lap. The other dog barks and wags his tail as if saying “come and play with me” and “what is wrong with you?”.

Anyway, Coco is happy once we leave the dog park to visit a cafe where they accept dogs. There we have hot chocolate, coconuts ice cream and a dog ice cream for Coco.

In the evening we have Chinese dinner at home. Mabu-nasu and sweet chili shrimps. Really great!
