Weekend in Tokorozawa

It’s been a few weeks since we visited Coco now so it was about time. I think Coco was of the same opinion. Especially considering how crazy happy he seemed when we arrived.

Days spent relaxing, playing with Coco, and walking with Coco. Oh, we spent quite a lot of time eating too

Tokorozawa

Chie and I walked Coco for 40 minutes. It was a beautiful day. Warm. Maybe a little bit too warm for Coco. His tongue was out most of the time. And when we stopped for water he drank a lot directly from my palm.

IKEA

We had decided to go to IKEA today. Chie’s mother, Coco, Chie and I. It took us about an hour or so to drive from Tokorozawa to IKEA in Saitama. It is one of the latest IKEA to open in the Tokyo area.

It was the first time for Chie’s mother to visit an IKEA. And it took about 10 seconds before she put the first thing into the basket. Going to IKEA is always a challenge. The biggest challenge is to try not to buy anything. Many say it is impossible but I have managed… Once 🙂

We spent about 2 hours walking around, zig-zagging between people. More people than what you can find on a Saturday or Sunday in a Swedish IKEA.

With some money less in our pockets and few bags in our hands we left IKEA. Just to reach the next challenge. How to get home? The signs for the express way were a little bit confusing and the junction looked more like a roller coaster with roads going up and down and hither and thither than anything else.

Eventually we find our way up on the express way. Once there the drive was as smooth as a baby butt.

In the evening we had tori-udon at home. At 8:30 pm we left Tokorozawa and headed back to Tokyo. A little bit later than we usually do.

Spring Time in Tokorozawa?

In the morning while I was walking Coco it felt like spring was finally here. Sunshine. 20 degrees. Colorful trees. And Fuji-san in the background. A great way to start the day.

A Crazy Dog Called Coco

This weekend we went to Tokorozawa to visit Coco again, we went already on Friday night after a quick visit to Yasaka for dinner. As usual when we arrive in Tokorozawa Coco went crazy. Actually this weekend he was more crazy than usual… The whole weekend. He never wanted to leave Chie’s side. Chie too got crazy so we decide to lock them both in Coco’s cage.

Bad girl and dog!

Saturday was raining the whole day. But Sunday was much better. We decide to take Coco to the dog park, which he as usual did not like. Scared as he was he tried to hide behind Chie all the time. Or get away by jumping up on a bench.

In some sense I can understand him. Who would like to have a chain of dogs linked to himself, all of them sniffing the other in the crotch? And all the sissies with their pink and baby blue shoes. And some dogs tried to look cool in their Harley Davidson skin jackets but only managed to look like a scared little… Well, dog.
