Kawailoa Bay

Yesterday we went north so today we stayed in the south. Kawailoa bay is not far from where we stay but it is still a 20 minutes bumby drive on a very dirty dirt road. The bay is quite beautiful though and we spent the whole day there.

Around 5 pm we took the very dirty dirt road back. The access gates close at 6 pm and we really did not want to spend the night there 😉

Before having dinner at home Chie and strolled down to the ocean to watch the sunset. But it was a bit cloudy so I quickly did some posing and then we went back home and had dinner.

Moloa Bay, Finally

Finally we went to Moloa Bay. It was as beautiful as we remembered it. Today was a few more people than usual there too. Though the beach is never crowded.

It is difficult to say what is so special with this beach but I think it comes down to a mix of the scenery and that it is no people here. And it has palm trees 🙂 Anyway, it is a great beach to just hang out on.

We spent the time at the beach reading, swimming and relaxing. Suddenly it was 5 pm and time to return home. We made a stop at the Safeway grocery store which delayed us so we did not return until 6:30 pm. A late dinner.

Poipu Beach

I lied! Or rather, I did not know that we would sleep in for such a long time so that we could not make it to Moloa Bay. So today we went to Poipu Beach instead. Moloa Bay will be waiting for us tomorrow.

It was a lovely day with sea turtles eating grass from the rocks just 10 meters from where we were staying. They are basically there every day so no photos 🙂 We enjoyed the turtles, the sand, the sun, and the cooling water before returning home around 5 pm.

At home we made beef steak with salad. Afterwards we relaxed. I went to bed around 10 pm while Chie stayed up until 2 am, watching the Royal wedding in London.

Sunny Poipu, We’re Back!

The flight from Honolulu to Lihue on Kauai is only 30 minutes long. We spent part of it sleeping.

From the airport it is only about 20 minutes drive to Poipu. And once again, when we turn right down a hill we can see Poipu beach, it feels like coming home 🙂

We checked in, talking with Jay-Nyh, who is always so friendly and sharing with his knowledge of Kauai and what is ongoing at the moment. Then we unpacked quickly. Changed to swim suites. And was on our way to Kiahuna beach.

We stayed at the beach until 5pm before going to a farmers’ market. Only local and organic food. Very interesting. Chie found some coffee from Moloa Bay, a coffee farm located close to one of our favorite beaches. If yu stay tuned you may be able to read about the beach tomorrow 🙂

After the market we bought groceries for dinners and for tomorrow’s breakfast and lunch. Rest of the night we just relaxed getting energy to be able to… Well, relax at the beach tomorrow 😉

Ocean View

A day away from the office. I spent it taking care of the laundry, giving a digital camera to charity, buying sandwiches for our flight and more.

At 4 pm when I met Chie at the Shinagawa station I was quite tired. But that was very good since I spent most of the flight to Honolulu sleeping.

In Honolulu we were pleasantly surprised by two things. First, we could check in to our room already when we arrived at 10 am. Secondly, for the first time at Waikiki Sand Villa we got an ocean view 😉

We spent half an hour on the balcony before we went out for some serious shopping. There are many things we want to buy that are not available in Tokyo. Like iTunes pre-paid cards, for US iTunes. And Lululemon Athletica.
