Leaving Eh for Stockholm

When we woke up the weather was better. So after breakfast we relaxed in the garden. Then we had meat pie for lunch before we started to head back to Stockholm. In Gävle we had a short break to take a shower at my mother’s apartment. Then we continued to Stockholm.

Once in Stockholm we unloaded and got ready for dinner. We decided to take the car and park it on Valhallavägen and then walk down to Stureplan for a dinner at Vapino (Italian fast food). However, it turned out that Valhallavägen was out of parking spaces, which is unusual. But this evening Iron Maiden had a show on Stadion.

We started to suspect that something was going on when we got closer to Stadion. The middle of Valhallavägen was covered with people in black t-shirts. Some of them you realy wondered what hole they have crawled out of, but they seemed nice enough.

We found a parking space on a side road and had a pizza and a salad at Vapiano. Then it was a short ride back home in Stocksund to relax and prepare for tomorrow.

A visit to Folktandården (dentist)

A few days ago Chie lost a filling in one of her teeth and we had got a scheduled time for fixing it at the Folktandvården (dentist) in söderhamn. It was the first time for Chie to visit the dentist in Sweden. Her dentist was Nobuko Inglund, a Japanese, but most of the time she was cared for by a young guy from Gothenburg learning to be a dentist. His hands was very big for her small mouth.

On our way to Söderhamn we stopped at mother and Ulf’s summer house. This was the first time in many years that my grandmother and mother met. So we made a group photo for the special occasion.

Even earlier in the morning, just after breakfast, Chie and I took the boat out to get the fishing net. To our surprise we got 14 fishes: 1 pike-perch, 5 European perch, and 8 carp bream. The 8 carp bream were too small to eat so John took them out in the forest and left them there for cats and birds to eat.

John helped us take the fish out of the net. Then we put it in the refrigerator to keep it there until the evening.

In the evening we cleaned the fish and prepared in for dinner. We used the pike-perch and 2 of the European perch for it. Yummy!

After dinner we played Boccia in the garden. John had home field advantage and won both rounds.

Eh

Eh… Today we went to Eh where my grandmother and John has their summer house. It’s just outside of Bergvik. Before going there though we dropped Robert off at the train station in Söderhamn.

We spent most of the day relaxing and reading in the garden. Around 6 pm we took the boat out to put some net in the water. It was quite difficult since it was the first time for Chie and the first time in many many years for me. Finally Chie had to row the boat while I put the net into the water.

After the boat trip we had dinner in the garden. Then we relaxed some more, drinking wine and water before going inside to do just the same until we went to bed.

Blueberries in Fallet

Very cloudy and quite cold today. But we went out picking blueberries anyway. Robert spotted some from the car so we stopped and picket about 1.5 liters during in an hour.

After picking berries we went to the grocery store to recycle some PET bottles. It was a new experience for Chie. We recycled them just in time for a lunch at Brogrillen.

In the evening we played Croquet and had a BBQ again, eating the leftover from yesterday. We just finished before it started raining. After dinner it cleared up again and we could visit the horses in more or less sunny weather.

Going to Fallet

Woke up and had breakfast quite early although we went to bed late last night. Then Robert, Chie, and I drove to Fallet outside of Bergvik to visit at my mother and Ulf’s summer house.

We had time to say hello to a few of the 21 horses spending their summer vacation there. And we went to the Växbo Kvarn to look at the old linnen “factory” and to have a coffee break. In the evening we played Kubb and had a BBQ.
